Money as an Expression of Appreciation

Money as an Expression of Appreciation

The subject of money is a very thought-provoking one it seems.

I was just listening to some information from Bob Scheinfeld about our relationship to money and suddenly realized something about it.

It's only an expression of appreciation - nothing more. This is one explanation of the some of the emotions that happen regarding the amount of money we have. For example, isn't it fun when money is abundant and we happily pay the requested fees for a service without negotiating them? We love expressing our appreciation fully when we feeeeel we can do so.

It also feeeels great when others seem happy to pay our requested fees without attempting to negotiate them down. Sometimes when we negotiate a fee it's because we don't really HAVE the requested amount but do desire the service enough to find some way to obtain it. We may appreciate the service highly, yet lack the funding at that point in time.

There is also a process to educating people on the value of what we offer sometimes. For example, some skills are developed over a lifetime even though taking only a few minutes to present, such as a musical performance. A musicians fees may seem high to someone who is unaware of the work it took to acquire mastery of the instrument played.

One way to develop appreciation for the services we want to solicit is to attempt the task on our own. Once we have tried the work ourselves, we often realize what is involved and no longer question the fees for it. We are happy to pay just to make sure we don't have to figure out the item for ourselves.

Think about this: pretty much any one of us CAN cut the grass in our front yards. Yet how many of us will gladly pay even a high fee to have someone else cut it for us? We KNOW we don't WANT to do it whether we can or not. We know what it takes and we are happy to avoid that work! lol

When you can appreciate money as a tool, that also moves you forward.

For people who focus solely on money as the end goal, they are usually disappointed and frustrated because there's never enough coming in.

Wishing you much abundance & success!
